Hello everyone! A lot has happened since we've last spoken. Oscar has finally decided to grace us with his presents on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 10:17 PM! He weighed in at eight pounds, four ounces and 19.5 inches long. Labor and delivery did not go too bad, I thought. I actually went in for my weekly doctors appointment on that Tuesday and they weighed me in and checked my blood pressure as usual; however, this time my blood pressure was way too high. I had not had problems with blood pressure before so they decided that they needed to check it again, after about 20 minutes had gone by it was still too high. The doctor sent me down stairs to labor and delivery to run some more tests to make sure the baby and I would be okay. Once I got down there the nurses told me that the doctor changed his mind. He said since I'm already 39 weeks they just need to induce me for safety purposes. I was shocked to say the least and very nervous. I had not even felt any contractions (yet) and this was not how labor went (so I thought). The doctor was coming down to break my water so they had to get me hooked up with the IVs and pitocine right away. I had to hurry and send Christian a text so he could get to the hospital and my text said, "Come now. We're having a baby." Christian thought I meant that second so he panicked just a little to say the least! He didn't want to miss his son being born! Everything started about four o'clock and ended just after ten that night. Apparently this little guy was agreeing with me of just wanting to get out of my stomach. I ended up dilating from a four to a ten in two hours. The nurses said I was breaking records left and right on how fast my labor was going, given that I had to be induced. I pushed for about 45 minutes and then it was all over! I don't think I could have asked for a better experience! Everyone at the hospital was wonderful and so nice! I don't think I have ever stayed awake for such a long period of time before though... I ended being up for at least 60 hours straight. Since Oscars birth he has been such a joy to have in our home! We love him so much! It's so incredible how you can love someone so instantly! We don't even know Oscar or his personality that will come in time but we know he is ours and that's enough for now! Well, Oscar and I are healthy and doing wonderful. I actually went grocery shopping yesterday and felt great(no worries, I left Oscar with Christian at home)! Now that I'm not weighed down with a baby in me and not on bed rest I had to get out and do something! Well enough talk, here are some pictures! Enjoy!
