And the Oscar goes to...

Hello everyone! A lot has happened since we've last spoken. Oscar has finally decided to grace us with his presents on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 10:17 PM! He weighed in at eight pounds, four ounces and 19.5 inches long. Labor and delivery did not go too bad, I thought. I actually went in for my weekly doctors appointment on that Tuesday and they weighed me in and checked my blood pressure as usual; however, this time my blood pressure was way too high. I had not had problems with blood pressure before so they decided that they needed to check it again, after about 20 minutes had gone by it was still too high. The doctor sent me down stairs to labor and delivery to run some more tests to make sure the baby and I would be okay. Once I got down there the nurses told me that the doctor changed his mind. He said since I'm already 39 weeks they just need to induce me for safety purposes. I was shocked to say the least and very nervous. I had not even felt any contractions (yet) and this was not how labor went (so I thought). The doctor was coming down to break my water so they had to get me hooked up with the IVs and pitocine right away. I had to hurry and send Christian a text so he could get to the hospital and my text said, "Come now. We're having a baby." Christian thought I meant that second so he panicked just a little to say the least! He didn't want to miss his son being born! Everything started about four o'clock and ended just after ten that night. Apparently this little guy was agreeing with me of just wanting to get out of my stomach. I ended up dilating from a four to a ten in two hours. The nurses said I was breaking records left and right on how fast my labor was going, given that I had to be induced. I pushed for about 45 minutes and then it was all over! I don't think I could have asked for a better experience! Everyone at the hospital was wonderful and so nice! I don't think I have ever stayed awake for such a long period of time before though... I ended being up for at least 60 hours straight. Since Oscars birth he has been such a joy to have in our home! We love him so much! It's so incredible how you can love someone so instantly! We don't even know Oscar or his personality that will come in time but we know he is ours and that's enough for now! Well, Oscar and I are healthy and doing wonderful. I actually went grocery shopping yesterday and felt great(no worries, I left Oscar with Christian at home)! Now that I'm not weighed down with a baby in me and not on bed rest I had to get out and do something! Well enough talk, here are some pictures! Enjoy!

Last time something of Twilight was released (Breaking Dawn), I landed myself in the hospital but not for good reasons. However, after the release of the movie Twilight I do hope I land myself in the hospital again but only to get this little baby boy out of me! Bring on the labor!!!

HAZZAH! HAZZAH!

Well, Christian and I are stoked! Christian has had three interviews from different med school's and after all of them A.T. Still in Kirksville, Missouri became his number one pick. Today Christian got a phone call from A.T. Still and they offered him a spot in their med school program! All of our (well Christian's) hard work has paid off. I'm so proud of him! It seems so crazy that we now have a planned future for the next 8-9 years. Christian tells me that Kirksville is like Stars Hollow and since I've watched all seven season's of Gilmore Girls multiple times (that's an understatement) then I'm going to love it there. I'm going to have to take his word for it because there is hardly anything online as far as pictures go. Also, I just wanted to add that I have officially graduated from Provo College with my degree in Criminal Justice! I can't believe I'm done!

I ordered some baby clothing online and it arrived today! I think I like shopping for baby clothing much better than I like shopping for myself! I took some pictures of just a few pieces of clothing that I bought for our baby boy and I thought I would post them on our blog! Enjoy!!

Baby Shower

Hi Everyone! This week was my baby shower. The theme was Dr. Seuss and it was amazing. Madeline (my sister-in-law) and Tianna (my sister) did an amazing job. Also, thanks to Mom and Kelly for helping out. I had a blast there and hope everyone who came enjoyed it to. My camera battery died right when I got there and so I only got a few pics taken of the wonderful art work but here they are...

Happy Birthday Christian!

Yesterday was Christian's birthday and today is Tim's birthday so Heidi and I threw them a birthday party last night. The theme was a "Head's Up" party and we had people dress up from the neck up. I made hats for Christian and me. Also, there was a request to put a picture of me and my belly on the blog. It's not very appealing nor do I know how to pose for these kind of pictures but here it is!

SURPRISE!!

Things have been falling into place so smoothly for Christian and I. It has been such a blessing. On Wednesday, August 27th, I went to see the perinatologist again and my blood clot was pretty much gone! This was very good news but unfortunately the problem will not be solved until I actually give birth. However, my doctor said that I was aloud to do more things during the day. I asked if I could travel because all our family is in St. George. She said YES! She even said I could spend a whole week as long as I followed her rules. So Christian and I left the doctors office, got the oil changed in our car, threw some clothes is a suit case and took off for St. George that day. I have to admit, I am more of a list and planning sort of girl but the spontaneous events are fun every once in a while. We did not tell any of our family and just showed up to their homes that Wednesday! It was so fun to see their faces and my sister even started screaming when she opened the door! Since it was a holiday weekend we got to stay until the following Monday! Probably one of the longest vacations we have had since our honeymoon. We got the opportunity to go to some of the siblings school games. I got to see my sister, Tianna, play volleyball and boy is she good. Then we got to see Christian's brother, Stephen, play football which he had two interceptions that game! It was an amazing weekend! Thanks family for being spontaneous with us!

Outraged at Obama's VP choice!!!

Obama announced yesterday that Joe Biden is going to be his VP and this leaves me outraged!!! (Christian speaking, not Kenna) Politics are about war. John McCain is an American War hero and after being tortured for years in a Viet Cong war camp he learned all he needed to be a politician. His attacks on Obama have been unrelenting, vicious, and below the belt. Like WWE Monday night RAW, McCain has shown there will be NO MERCY. How is Obama supposed to compete with a warrior like that when he selects a push-over like Joe Biden? I still support Obama but I hope that he realizes that he is going to need a fighter at the VP spot. He is going to need a true fighter. Someone who's patriotism can't be doubted. The choice is obvious...Chuck Norris, vice president.

112 Days of Bed Rest to go...

Hooray! I am officially out of the hospital! Well, I actually got out last Friday but did not update the blog sorry. When I got home I was put on strict bed rest. I had an appointment with the perinatologist again today and have been making improvements! However, I'm still on bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy (Dec 3) but am now able to do limited activity for one hour two or three times a week. This is just to keep my muscles from disolving... not that I really had any to begin with. Baby seems to be doing well too! All I have to say is that I'm greatful for the Olympics to be on because that has been my sanity saver these past few days! GO TEAM USA!!!

Day 5

Five days in this prison. The prison food is getting old real fast. Not much to do today. Hopefully I get parole soon. I'm beaten everyday by baby and his brass knuckles. Here's a picture of my jail cell as well as how they have me tied up.

There's No End In Sight...

Day four in the hospital and just as boring as the first day. Well, you may be hearing from me more often than you would like. I do apologize, but this is more for my sanity than your pleasure. I have been watching movies reading books and I can't take it anymore. Interesting how life is, just when I thought I was needing a break I got one. But now that I have it I don't want it.

We saw the perinatologist today and ultrasounds really are amazing. We got to see every teeny tiny part of the baby. They showed us the stomach, kidneys, all four chambers of the heart, and much much more. We found out the problem thank heavens. However, it's not entirely good news. To spare you the details, it looks like I've got a blood clot five centimeters big in with the baby and it needs to come out. There is not much the doc can do without hurting the baby unless he just lets my body do the work. This means a very long waiting game. It is looking like I will not be out of the hospital this week so you may be hearing back from me sooner than you'd like. However, I did get the IV out of my arm today so that is very good news for me (once again, this blog is more for my benefit than yours)!! Peace :)

Life in the Hospital

The weekend began just great with the release of Breaking Dawn (HALLA!!!) but one thing led to another and Kenna is in a hospital bed for the third night in a row with no end in sight!!! The moral of this story...Vampires are bad news. As of yet, she's not dead...or undead.

Actually there were some complications with the pregnancy but as far as the doctors can tell, baby is fine and Kenna is in good health besides her hematocrit being a bit low. We get to see a specialist tomorrow who hopefully will bring good news. Kenna's had to get multiple ultrasounds and apparently baby doesn't like those because he starts throwing haymakers like there were no tomorrow. He's already broken two ultrasound receivers. We produced the first Anderson or Cannon family future prize fighter! Floyd Mayweather Jr better watch his back!

Baby Steps

Here's one of his little alien feet!

This is our little baby boy! We think he looks like an alien or maybe a Harvey Dent Junior.

The Baby...

I just thought I would let you all know that we are having a little baby Boy!!! We now have to come up with a name and suggestions are welcome :) Christian has started calling the baby Harvey from 'The Dark Knight'. If you haven't seen the movie then you probably won't understand. I don't want to spoil the movie so you will just have to watch it for yourself to understand. I still don't know how to post pictures but I will try to figure it out tonight so you can look at the pictures we have. Also, little baby was stradling the umbilical cord so it was difficult to get a straight shot but it is for sure a boy!

Thursday, July 10, 2008

Hello Everyone! Sorry this blog is such a bore. Christian and I are working on getting this blog up and running but we lack the time currently. Hopefully, we have it ready to go before July 22. On July 22 we will be having the ultrasound to see whether we are having a girl or boy! That way we do not have to make so many phone calls to family and friends... They can just check the blog! If you didn't know already, I'm not much of a talker when it comes to the phone. Email and I are best of friends! Well, that's all the time I have for today and odds are I won't be posting anything until the 22nd. Happy July!!
