One Week Off...

Christian finished finals last week so he got the Thanksgiving week off. We started off with a big grocery shopping trip (because I have yet figured out how to grocery shop with two kids.. if you put the car seat in the basket and have Oscar sit in the seat guess what, there is no room for anything else. I'll just have to experiment I guess). Monday we went to Columbia, MO which is 1 1/2 hours away (Because that is the closest town with more stores than walmart). Tuesday we cleaned house and hung out as a family some more. Wednesday was Thanksgiving prep day. Thanksgiving was at my house this year and we did it with one other family so there. I made the turkey, stuffing, rolls, salad, cheese ball, pumpkin cookies and homemade Oreo cookies. The other family had equally if not more to make than I did but you got to have a variety of food.. it's Thanksgiving! Then Thursday was Thanksgiving but at our house it was also Oscar's birthday! I officially have a 2 year old! Weird. Friday Christian and I went to see Harry Potter. Saturday (today) was Temple day. We left at 10:30 and didn't get back till 6:30 and that was a short trip (normally we have to swap kids while one of us goes in but it was Ward Temple day so we had babysitters). That's it for us this week. Christian goes back on Monday to begin his sixth quarter. Only two quarter's left! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Delivery...

So it's been a month but I'm finally posting about the delivery. I've had family here so I decided to visit and have my last chance for a social life before everyone left. On to the delivery...

So I had been dilated at a four for a while now and no contractions. Felix felt like he was falling out of me and it was very uncomfortable so I told the doc to induce me. Friday morning (Oct. 15) I dropped Oscar off at my friends house and got to the hospital at 7:30 to fill out paperwork. Paperwork was done and I was hooked up and ready to start with the inducement by eight. The doc came in checked me... I was at a four STILL but guess what I could see Felix's head (that explains why I was so uncomfortable). How is that possible? Well he had dropped below my cervix so there is no way I would have dilated normally cause it was just getting stretched (if that makes sense). I'm convinced that Felix was guarding my water because if I can see his head, with that kind of pressure it should have broken. So the doc broke my water but I told him I would prefer to not give birth if at all possible till after 9:30 because Christian was in the middle of a test and he would not be here till then (thank you med school). Christian ended up showing up at 8:30ish (finished early on the test) so that was a relief. I started to get really painful contractions so I asked for an epidural but they were late getting there so it was around 10:30 that I got one. However they had not checked my dilation since the first time and I think I was already at a ten because 11:30 came and I just felt like I needed to push so I told the doc that I was ready.. he checked and said ok push and he'll be out. I pushed twice and he was born. Yes, it was less than a minute.. don't think I will ever break that record. I guess that makes sense though since I could see his head already. (Side note: When I was getting the IV and epidural (anything involving needles) I almost passed out and kept telling them that but they would not allow ice chips or anything so they kept giving me alcohol wipes to smell but the nurses kept saying that I'll be fine and not to over react.. that they have never had anyone pass out on them before.) So after giving birth, I went to the bathroom and almost passed out again (Christian was now gone by this point to get Oscar). The nurse told me that we were going to change to the post delivery room but I told her that I didn't feel good. She assured me I wouldn't pass out and everything would be ok... So I stepped out of my delivery room and said again 'I don't feel good'... that's the last thing I remember. Woke up in some chair. Let's just say they were shocked. Not really for me though cause that was like the 50th time I've passed out (pregnancy does weird things to me). So oddly enough there was no wheel chair in the HOSPITAL so they used one of those rolly chairs from their computers. If I was not dizzy enough that chair definitely made it worse. Christian showed up and the conversation went like this...
Nurse: So your wife passed out on us...
Christian: Oh ya, she does that all the time to me
Nurse: What? How come no one told us that?
BAAA... I told them at least six times that I was about to pass out. Maybe they will listen to the next girl who says she's going to pass out.
Well the only other complaint I have is on the food they served me. I tried to eat it with out getting nauseous but every meal was a disaster and the next day I was released to go home and right before I stepped out of the door I threw up all the food. I tried so hard to keep it down but it refused to stay put. Overall I was glad to be out of there. All in all turns out my pregnancies are not great but my labors are awesome. That's it.

Felix is growing so fast already. I think he's almost 11 pounds now. At the doc last week he was 10.8 and he has grown a lot since. I've been back to my normal clothes for a little while now and it feels great to have my own body back! I'll try to post some pics of Felix soon. They are all on our other computer that for some reason quit on us.. hopefully we can get that fixed.
